There are a lot of improvements to the new version of tomcat (6.0.24) even though it is a minor version bump. In my opinion, the most significant change is the improved resiliency of the underestimated web container (no…it is NOT an app server as much as you want it to be…) to memory leaks that we sloppily build into our applications that will run on this platform. I intend to start using it on my development systems just as soon as possible. This sort of thing can’t go unnoticed! I will blog more about it as time progresses and if I see any real improvements. I don’t have too much difficulty with memory leaks but every little bit helps!
Oh! By the way….where the heck is tomcat 7.0?!? 🙂
